Pastor Perry L. Harris, Senior Pastor
Pastor Perry L. Harris was born on September 2, 1964 to Mr. James O. Harris Sr. and the late Mrs. Ora Dell Harris. Athletics were a major source of fun during his youth. By high school, he was a standout in both basketball and baseball! While in high school, he met and fell head over heels in love with the love of his life Carolyn Denise (Love). Before long, he asked her father for her hand in marriage and the rest is history! Pastor Perry was headed toward a career in baseball until an arm injury hindered those plans. Not long after that, he began a decades-long career as a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. It is there that his passion for ministering to inmates (particularly on death row was birthed. Always involved in the lives of youth, he became a youth basketball coach for an organization called Little Dribblers in nearby Navasota, Texas. He served as a boys and girls basketball coach for over ten years. In 1996, he accepted his call into ministry and preached his first sermon titled “Where is Your Faith?” It is at that very service that his very own father rededicated his life to Christ! He furthered his Christian Education at the College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas. Over the years, Pastor Perry has served as the Senior Pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church and the Roans Chapel Baptist Church. Presently, he proudly serves (alongside his wife) as co-founder and Senior Pastor of a thriving church, Fresh Start Ministries Brazos Valley. In his recreational time, he enjoys taking care of the athletic facilities for Navasota Independent School District! A true family man, he most enjoys time with his wife, children (4) and grandchildren (8)
